Beechworth lunatic Asylum originally known as Mayday hills is located in Victoria. It was mental hospital from 1867 to 1995 when it was finally closed. At a record of that time about 1200 patients lived over there. About 9000 patients died in their life span of 130 years. Visitors have reported hearing sounds of children playing and singing songs. The most dangerous ghost there is of Tommy Kennedy who died in kitchen. Visitors say that they heard him screaming and warning to stay out. Several people reported his appearance in the kitchen and knifes flying in the air. This place is full of ghosts and don't ever think of visiting this place.

The prisoners in this jail were tortured by the Guards and officers in the 19 century. Punishments included being pushed and trapping them into frozen water and being confined to straitjackets for hours at a time. Shadows and floating bodies in air have been reported there since mid 20 century. One of the guards who worked their said that his family has been haunted by a ghost whose child he murdered there and every night screams replace the quietness of the cells(prison cells). While some of the ghost have been seen crying in the corner of the corridors after which they disappear.

This place was a tuberculosis hospital after which it became Sanatorium( medical facility for treatment of a long term disease.) Ghost of children have been heard singing nursery rhymes on the roof and playing games with balls .Scariest one is the ghost of an old woman bound in chains, who has been seen many times there. Visitors say that the woman is brutally wounded with dripping blooded from her arms . The most haunted area in the hospital is the nurses station where one nurse jumped from the window and many others hung themselves to death. There voices can be heard from the room warning visitors to stay away.
